I’ve never been out of Australia. In fact, I’ve never even been outside New South Wales or Victoria. I’ve also never been on a airplane.
Next month, I’m going to the Ubuntu Developer Summit, in Mountain View, California. How cool is that? (The fact that it’s at Google makes it sooo much cooler, too :))
What is even cooler again, is that I’ve been sponsored, so I need not worry about having to find the $’s for my travel and accomodation. I woke on Friday to a very cool email telling me so.
My main focus at the summit will be the community, specifically LoCos. I’ve never been to anything like this, but from what I can ascertain, I’ll be working pretty closely with Jono to nut out cool new ways to improve the community, and also affirm some recently tested stuff. I love the ubuntu community — it really does rock, and I want to make it rock harder.
Quite frankly, I feel like I’m going to wake up soon, and find this is a dream or something, because for me, it is like a dream come true.
w00t!

Congrats , I’ll see you there ! ( /me got an invite too for Kubuntu Stuff ) would love to talk about help getting my LoCo team here going a bit ;)
See you in cali
If you’ve never met Jono before, he’s a top bloke you will have a great time……maybe next year you can come to LUG RADIO LIVE :)
congratulations, you are truly awesome.
